Bursary Fund

16-19 Bursary Fund Guidelines for 2024-25

These guidelines apply to students who are aged 16, 17 or 18 on the 31st August 2024.

What is the 16-19 Bursary Fund?

The 16-19 Bursary Fund aims to help 16 to 19 year-olds overcome any financial barriers they may face when attending a sixth form or further education college.

There are two types of Bursaries available:

Vulnerable Bursary:

This is an award for students who:

·                  receive Income Support or Universal Credit in their own name, or

·                  receive Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit and either Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment in their own name, or

·                  are care leavers or currently care

Discretionary Student Bursary

The School also received funding to help students who do not qualify for a Vulnerable Bursary but who face genuine financial barriers (where the annual household income is less than £30,000) by contributing to transport costs, course costs such as meals, books and equipment. The award may not meet 100% of your costs.
